A catch-all e-mailbox is one that gathers all the messages sent to invalid email addresses. For instance, if your address is firstname.lastname@example.org, but someone miswrites it and sends an email to email@example.com, it will still be received in the catch-all mailbox that you have created. Only one single mailbox per domain name can have this feature activated and in this way you will never miss messages because the other side has an outdated address or has made a mistake. The disadvantage of using a catch-all mailbox is that you may begin receiving a lot of junk email messages, but this issue can be resolved by using an anti-spam filtering solution. It is also important to bear in mind that a mailbox with an enabled catch-all feature cannot redirect inbound emails to a third-party address.
Catch-all Emails in Hosting
You will be able to set up a catch-all mailbox without difficulty if you’ve got a hosting
account with our company. The Email Manager in our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel is fully featured, yet astonishingly simple to work with, and it will allow you to activate different options, including the catch-all one, with just a couple of mouse clicks. All the email addresses that you’ve got will be shown in alphabetical order in this section and next to each one you’ll find a mini "Catch-all" logo. Clicking it once will activate this feature, clicking it for a second time will disable it. As you can have just one such catch-all mailbox per domain name, our system will warn you if you’ve already got a different one with this option enabled or if you’ve got activated email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers
A catch-all email address can be created with a couple of mouse clicks in case you’ve got a semi-dedicated hosting plan
with us. The semi-dedicated hosting account will be managed through our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you will be able to create email addresses with any domain registered there. To activate the catch-all option for a given mailbox, you’ll need to click on the button with the exact same name, which will be on the right-hand side of each mailbox. Deactivating this option can be achieved in the very same way and will not take more than a click either. If a catch-all mailbox has already been activated for a particular domain name, you will receive a warning. The same is valid if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or alter any feature automatically.
